This is A Rare 1970’s Autographed Copy Of A 42-Page Spiral Bound Portfolio titled Herbert Ryman Paintings and Drawings
A beautiful sampling of his art complete with black & white and color reproductions of his personal paintings and drawings from his vast world tours of Europe, Asia and the Americas. Herb Ryman was known for his technical virtuosity and wide range of subjects. Able to easily capture images using pen & ink, oils or watercolors. His various styles succeeded to depict the mood & inherent beauty found in his subjects.
This Impressive Portfolio contains many quotes from Herb including one that is quite personal to us: “I sometimes wonder about a simple piece of art as a drawing or a watercolor or portrait which hangs in a man’s home and is seen and enjoyed by only his family and possibly a few friends and neighbors. I wonder if that is really of more consequence than some of the living conceptions that I’ve done for the public enjoyment and education - something done anonymously and yet reaches millions of people.” In 1985, Herb Ryman’s generosity was bestowed upon our family as he sat our two daughters down at the easel in his studio (shown here) and created a pencil sketch of our girls that we cherish to this date. We continue to enjoy not only his artwork created for the consumption of many, but also for our own personal admiration and joy.
At the end of this portfolio, a partial list of Owners of paintings from various years, including water colors, oils, portraits and lithographs has been printed. Some of the names on that list include, John Barrymore, Lionel Barrymore, Bill Cottrell, Marvin Davis, Cecil B. DeMille, Walt Disney, Roy O. Disney, Robert Guggenheim, Richard Irvine, Winston Hibler, Emmett Kelly, Lloyd Stouffer & Jane Wyman.

It is in very good condition with only one exception and that is on page #21. There is a blue/purple ink stain that has washed in a streak over the Tivoli illustration. The overall condition remains very good for being at least 35 Years Old! The Portfolio has been stored for years.
